The sustainability of Ready-mades

Paving the path towards reusing/re-purposing/up-cycling and sustainability, Ready-mades have been inflaming brains, vigorously shacking foundations, and vexing the prudes since 1912, thank to Marcel Duchamp. Considering the very long list of artists that have been taking this route, it seems that this trip is priceless.

(just some artists, in alphabetic order from A to K)

Antoni Clavé, 'Telephone', 1939

Arman, 'Valetudinarian', 1968

Bill Woodrow, 'Twin-Tub with Guitar', 1981

Brian Griffiths, 'The body and ground (or your lovely smile)', 2010

Cai Guo-Qiang, 'Borrowing your enemy's arrows', 1998

Conroy Maddox, 'Onanistic Typewriter', 1940

Gabriel Orozco, 'Horses running endlessly', 1995

Joseph Beuys, 'Green Violin',1974

Kazimir Malevich, 'Reservist of first division', 1914
